Ciconiidae stands for handbags meant to be passed down through generations.
Inspired by tradition and shaped by innovative design, the label creates handbags that tell stories. The name, derived from the Latin term for the stork family, pays homage to the founder’s surname, Störchli, and reflects values such as grace, longevity, and tradition.
Each handbag is carefully handcrafted in Switzerland, shaped by the diversity and beauty of nature.
MY STORY
From an early age, I was fascinated by the world of leather — influenced by equestrian sports and a deep appreciation for finely crafted equipment.
Later, I discovered my passion for luxurious vintage handbags, igniting a dream to create my own pieces that would tell stories and carry soul.
While studying Textile Business Management in Zurich, I not only deepened my understanding of the fashion and textile industry but also learned traditional craftsmanship alongside.
Thus, business knowledge and a passion for true artisanal work became closely intertwined from an early stage. With over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, it is now my mission to create handbags that are not only beautiful but also meaningful.
