CICONIIDAE is a Swiss luxury handbag brand.
Each handbag is handcrafted one by one in Switzerland – piece by piece. This makes every bag unique. CICONIIDAE stands for handbags designed to last across generations. Inspired by tradition and shaped by innovative design, each piece carries lasting character and meaning.
The name is derived from the Latin term for the stork family and pays tribute to the founder’s surname, Störchli. It reflects values such as continuity, precision and quiet strength. Each handbag is individually created in a Swiss atelier.
No mass production, no series manufacturing – every piece stands on its own.
MY STORY
My connection to leather began early – shaped by horseback riding and a fascination for carefully crafted materials. Over time, this developed into a passion for vintage luxury handbags and the desire to create pieces with depth and longevity. During my studies in Textile Business Management in Zurich, I combined solid industry knowledge with traditional craftsmanship.
This combination continues to define my work today. With over twenty years of experience in the fashion industry, I focus on creating handbags
that are not only aesthetic, but carry substance and lasting value.

CICONIIDAE represents a return to true craftsmanship.
Each handbag is created individually in a Swiss atelier – with precision, care and an uncompromising commitment to quality. No industrial production. No series manufacturing. Every bag is unique. The models form the design foundation. Within this framework, space for individuality emerges: materials, interior and the finest details can be personally selected – from the leather to the color of the stitching.
Only carefully selected materials are used, including leather from certified tanneries in Italy and France, known for the highest standards in quality and origin. The aim is to create objects that combine contemporary luxury with lasting relevance – independent of trends and seasons.
WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL
CICONIIDAE handbags are defined by their construction, materiality and individuality. Each bag combines different types of leather – embossed, smooth, structured or suede – creating depth and a refined interplay of textures. The designs are inspired by nature, geometry and multidimensional forms. A defining feature of CICONIIDAE is the integration of natural gemstones, which are set by
hand into leather. This detail transforms each handbag into a singular piece.
Clients may select their gemstone individually – such as agate, carnelian or malachite. The stone is integrated as an essential part of the design.
Through the individual selection of leather, interior and details, each handbag becomes a unique piece.
