The story of leather in Kastanienbaum continues. Just a few steps from the former tannery, the CICONIIDAE atelier is located today.
This is where each handbag begins – not as an industrial concept, but as an idea, developed by hand and translated step by step into material. What was once tanned, inspected and processed takes on a new form here: precise craftsmanship shaped by material knowledge, time and care.
Each bag is created individually in the atelier.
No series production, no standardized process – every piece is made from the ground up. From the first design to the final finish, every step is carried out by hand: developing the form, cutting the leather, assembling each element with precision, setting gemstones and completing the final stitches.
In this way, CICONIIDAE continues the story of this place – not through repetition, but through reinterpretation.

suede, as well as leather from certified tanneries in Italy and France.
Everything is created under one roof – with intention, precision, and respect for time.
Designs and patterns are drawn by hand.

Natural gemstones are individually set into leather and integrated into the construction. They are an essential part of each bag and give every piece its own character.
